UPVC Finish Conservatory Ceiling

A fully insulated UPVC conservatory can be a wonderful investment for your home. UPVC conservatory panels can maintain the image of a bright, open and airy space as well as taking away annoyances such as extreme heat in the summer, excessive cold in the winter and unnecessary noise from heavy rain. Conservatory insulation with a UPVC finish can add a clean, sharp and modern look to the room while retaining the open and light-filled effect of a traditional full glass conservatory.

What is UPVC?

Produced for the first time in 1935, the ‘PVC’ in UPVC stands for a chemical compound made from chlorine, carbon and hydrogen named Polyvinyl Chloride. These components all originate from the naturally occurring raw materials of natural gas, common salt and petroleum. The ‘u’ in front of PVC stands for ‘unplasticised’, meaning that the material has not been softened by the addition of chemical plasticizers. UPVC has many applications including construction, car manufacturing, packaging and furniture. UPVC is a common substance used in the building of conservatories because it is easily shaped under heat and metal rods can be incorporated within the structure when extra support is needed.

Why Choose a UPVC Insulated Conservatory?

Many home owners find that their conservatory is impractical for a large amount of the year - too stiflingly hot in the summer and too bitterly cold in the winter. This problem can be remedied with the installation of an insulated conservatory roof that will not only control temperature and reduce glare and energy bills, but will stop your furniture from fading and appearing old before its time. UPVC is often chosen for use within conservatories because of its versatility as a building material. If you chose to use UPVC as a cover for your insulated ceiling then you will benefit from a bright, light and airy space created by sunlight reflected from the UPVC surface. UPVC also has the added benefit that it is a very low maintenance material that will only ever need minimal attention after the initial installation.

The panelled interior ceiling will be installed inside your existing conservatory roof, hiding the insulation from the interior of the room. Along with the insulation itself, the UPVC conservatory panels will help to dramatically decrease seasonal fluctuations in temperature meaning that less heat will escape during the winter months (keeping the room cosy and warm) while also not building up inside during the summer months (keeping the room cool and comfortable).

The Installation Process

1: We begin the process by checking your conservatory for external problems or leaks. If any problems are found we will quickly rectify the problem before beginning the insulation process.

2: A treated timber subframe is installed directly onto the underside of your existing roof beams. Our professional installation technicians all have extensive experience in this process and ensure that every joist is perfectly cut and fitted.

3: Next, the insulated quilt is added. Made up of 19 unique layers, the quilt covers the entire underside of the conservatory ceiling. The insulation quilt is extremely energy efficient and completely compliant with building regulations as well as being fire retardant and certified.

4: A second treated timer subframe is installed which will provide the secure fixing for your choice of finish that will form the beautifully crafted internal ceiling.

5: Our expert installation team will then complete the ceiling with a UPVC ship lap design ensuring that the overall finish of the ceiling is aesthetically pleasing. Thanks to the versatility of the material, the whole process can be completed in as little as one day, causing minimal mess and disruption for you and your family.
