Tiled Conservatory Roof

Over 95% of conservatories installed over the last 25 years have a polycarbonate roof and many conservatory owners have since found that their polycarbonate or glass roofing makes their conservatory unbearable for large chunks of the year. Instead of being a comfortable and relaxing space, a conservatory can become extremely hot at the height of summer or bitterly cold in the winter. Smart Conservatory is now offering a solution to this widespread problem – insulated and tiled conservatories.

With an insulated roof, the conservatory becomes an even more desirable addition to the family home as the room is now protected from the climate and kept cosy and warm in the winter but cool and comfortable in the summer.

Installation

An insulated conservatory ceiling is installed below the original glass or polycarbonate roof, keeping the existing shape with minimal height loss. In these cases, when seen from above, the original roof looks basically unchanged (if it is polycarbonate) or as if it has neutral coloured blinds (if it is glass). While this is suitable in many cases, a lot of customers like to take their conservatory remodel one step further by including a stylish tiled roof on the exterior of the building. A tiled roof now gives homeowners the opportunity to change their conservatory – unusable for a large amount of the year- into a stunning garden room that is functional the whole year round.

Smart Tiled Effect Roof Finishing Options

Tiled roof insulation ensures that your conservatory stays at an optimal temperature in both the summer and the winter months. A tiled effect roof can have a contemporary or traditional finish and can be installed with materials that match the overall look of your home, creating a seamless overall design that makes it seem as if your tiled roof conservatory is part of the original building. As well as matching the external tiles to the rest of the house, internally you will have a choice of a plaster finish or UPVC finish for your interior ceiling. Both the plaster and UPVC ceilings will follow the structure of your original roofing so that you will maintain the vaulted appearance and ceiling height. The decoration combinations and options are endless with a tiled roof conservatory so there is sure to be something for everyone and every home. The bright and open interior spaces of your conservatory will be perfectly complemented by a tiled roof, creating a contemporary ‘garden room’ that is sure to be the perfect addition to your home.

Where suitable we like to use TapcoSlate – slate roofing has been a desirable product for centuries because of its durability and authentic appearance. TapcoSlate provides the very best quality slate which not only looks great but also enhances the roof performance.
